How much does it cost to implement artificial intelligence in a company?

There is no single price for implementing artificial intelligence in a company. The cost depends on the problem to be solved, the information the system needs, the tools already in place and the amount of custom work the solution requires. Simply saying “AI costs X” can therefore be as unhelpful as estimating a website without knowing what it needs to do.

What determines the cost

The first factor is the use case. Integrating an assistant that answers questions about internal documents is not the same as developing a system that analyses large volumes of data and takes action across several platforms. The available information matters too. AI needs context to be useful. It can work with documents, knowledge bases, internal data, catalogues or structured information, depending on the case. Then come integrations.

If the solution needs to connect to a CRM, an online store, a management system or a proprietary application, development work may increase.

Integrated AI or custom development

Many companies do not need to create an artificial intelligence model from scratch. In many cases, the value lies in integrating existing models into a specific process. A system can classify enquiries, summarise information, generate drafts, assist a sales team or automate certain decisions. The difference lies in how AI connects to the company's real work.

There are operating costs too

Beyond initial development, there may be costs for model usage, infrastructure, storage, maintenance and evolution. These expenses depend on the volume of information and how frequently the solution is used. A good implementation should therefore consider the total cost, not just development.

Is it worth it?

The right question is not whether a company needs AI, but whether there is a process where it can deliver a concrete benefit. Saving time, reducing repetitive tasks, improving an experience or helping with decisions are more useful goals than adopting artificial intelligence because it is fashionable. At HIBI, we analyse the process first and the technology second. When AI makes sense, we design a solution that integrates with existing tools and operations.

The goal is not to have AI. It is to make work function better.
